Old songs

4:33:00 AM

We had some wonderful songs we were made to sing in chorus as young kids! We had loads of them, but these are a few that stuck on, and a few I recall now. As and how I recall more, I will update them.

Rings any bells?

1)

God takes his time to make a tree,

A baby so tiny or bumble bee,

He grows them slow so we can see,

And know the way we ought to be (to be)

The farmer can’t plant a tree and say,

Come on and hurry up and grow in one day,

He has to wait for the rain and the sun,

To help the plant grow one by one.

We can’t expect babies to get up and walk,

It takes them time to read and to talk,

Show lots of patience in all that you do,

Remember you once were a baby too.

Does anyone remember any more stanzas?

2)

Little drops of water, little grains of sand,

Make the mighty ocean, and the beautiful land

Though God made the universe he stays behind the scenes,

God specializes, in using little things.

Little hugs and kisses, little bits of love,

Show… (something something), makes the world go around (something something)

3)

It’s I, It's I, It's I who build community,

It’s I, It's I, It's I who build community,

It’s I, It's I, It's I who build community,

It's I who build community.

La la la,

Rolling over the ocean, rolling over the sea

Go and do your part to build community

Rolling over the ocean, rolling over the sea

Go and do your part to build community

It’s we…..

It’s love….

4)

Love is something that you give it away, give it away, give it away

Love is something that you give it away,

Cause it comes right back to you.

It's just, like, a magic penny,

You hold it tight and you won't have any,

Lend it, spend it, give it away, give it away, give it away

Love is something that you give it away,

Cause it comes right back to you.

Joy…

Peace…

God’s love is so wonderful,

God’s love is so wonderful,

God’s love, is so wonderful,

Oh! Wonderful love!

It is so high you can't get over,

it is so deep you can't get under,

it is so wide you can't get round it,

Oh! Wonderful love!
