Welcoming the winter

8:58:00 AM

The night shivers,
Wrapped in its dark blanket.
A gentle wind is running,
But don't be fooled by it,
Cause beneath its calm flow
Hides a painful sting.

Life slows down
Dragging on one step at a time.
Bones creak joints crack
It's hard to fall out of that woolen gown.

Night time becomes eerie,
All the voices magnified manifold.
The stars twinkle, the planets sparkle
Like little gems in the dark blanket rolled.

The sun fiery as ever
Tries all it can to no avail.
It's pushed so far off
That all it can do is see its heat fail.

The living become lifeless
The sun resigns and sets off for the other side
And as the days get smaller here
Over there they grow wide.

But wait a minute. Don't be afraid without a reason,
You haven't heard it all as yet.
In 6 months the sun will be back,
But for now join me in welcoming the winter season.
