Confidence Boosters

Everyday we do so many tasks. We are supposed to handle so many things. We are supposed to learn new things, continue knowing the stuff we do, teach others if possible and the likes. Everytime we face a new thing, it’s like a totally different experience. And no doubt its fun to learn and the strength you gain from going through the process helps, but it creates different types of emotions in you, which might be difficult to handle. There are so many things, like maybe facing or even just interacting a senior (might be an elder/a professor/or just your next door neighbour aunty). Or we may have to really show our skills to someone, and we may be facing the mental block like ‘what if I go wrong?’. Or just take a scolding from someone for your fault/or no fault of yours. And there are countless things like these. At these times we are handling or trying to handle our own fear, tension, confidence. The main thing at these times is self belief. And self belief is not an outcome of just nothing. It does require you to boost your own confidence, because after all we ourselves are responsible for hindering ourselves.
It’s like taking a small time out for yourself and enlightening yourself as to what you can do best. And ofcourse each of us has some skill, which we are the best at, and we know no one can beat us at that. When we are down, what do we do? We like to be alone, and think and ponder inside of us. Or just go out for a walk, or take a cup of coffee, and just stare outside the window. It gives us time to recuperate, and this is necessary because we humans aren’t perpetual machines who are expected to give output each and every time we are fed something.
I see people getting stymied by their own mental blocks. Some crisis arises, or just some new vista opens and the first thing people say is well, “I can’t possibly do this”. All this is due to the lack of self confidence. Sometime back maybe they messed up something due to which they now think that that’s what is going to happen everytime. Well, the saying failures are stepping stones to success isn’t new, but all you need to do is to make yourself believe that well you can. The outcome needn’t be thought of before you even try. Maybe you will falter once or twice, but atleast some time or the other, you are bound to get it right. Lets be frank, we aren’t that dull!
Well there are two ways you can boost yourself. Do something you know you are extremely good at, or do something you have no idea about. Each one will give you a confidence which will be totally different in nature from one another, but will give you the boost surely. Like for instance you think you can play something very well? Well, then go to some random ground and play with random people, vanquish them, dethrone them and let them know you are the king. Once that is done, you can return with a smile on your face and be ready to face anything, because you have just proved yourself. Or maybe the same can go into some art, like paint some mind-boggling picture, or anything of those sorts. Play music, cook or something like that. The only thing that should matter is it will give you the push to do something new. Or directly approach some stuff you know you suck at. If you can’t accomplish it, no problem, because it was difficult anyway. But you will surely make progress in it nonetheless. But if you do do it, then well, there is no looking back is there!!!
Doing something like this gives you such a inspiration that you can face anything anywhere anytime. Basically all we need is a little strength and mental mettle. Once that, and there is nothing to beat you…
Besides the thing you have done and fear to face isn’t as bad as it seems. Think about how a criminal must be feeling while getting caught. You are way better that that. So don’t fear. You are far better than you think. Just that the circumstances don’t allow you to think clearly. So get over yourself and try to view the world with wide eyes. The thing to remember is no person is perfect. So the person you fear may also be going through the same emotions. It’s like when a dog barks at you. It’s because even he fears you. If you start running, then he gets the upper hand. But if you stand your ground, then obviously he knows you are no easy and will watch carefully every step of yours too. So don’t let the other person get the upper hand, else you will go down in dumps. Rise and face the world like you own it, and after conquering it, if someone asks, say, “Boost is the secret of my energy!!! What about you??”
